Surviving to Thriving Support Group!

June 23, 2022, 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

The VB Strong Center collaborates with The UP Center to present: Surviving to Thriving Support Group!

This group will meet virtually via zoom bi-weekly for seven weeks. Join a supportive community to freely share your experiences without judgment. Get ready to explore, express difficult feelings and thoughts, and engage in helpful strategies to enhance coping skills to embrace adversity and improving your resiliency as you move from surviving towards thriving.

The purpose of this group is NOT to focus on the day of 5/31; however, this seven session support group aims to bring together individuals seeking to move from surviving to thriving after 5/31 and is customized to focus on tools to help participants move beyond the “rabbit hole” by addressing the following topics:

  1. Trauma and the Brain
  2. Emotional Intelligence
  3. Stress Management
  4. Coping Skills: Healthy vs Unhealthy
  5. Self-Care: Short-term & Long-term
  6. Guilt & Self-Forgiveness
  7. Surviving to Thriving

Participants will engage in trauma-informed psychoeducation and activities. Participants will have the opportunity to apply the information to their own individual situations and to create their own plans for ongoing personal growth and goals.
