Chair Yoga for Chronic Pain, Stress Relief & Restlessness

When we use yoga for managing chronic pain & stress, the goal is to quiet the nervous system and the mind. So using a chair is not just a practice for those with injuries or mobility issues (although it is perfect for these students); it’s a route to more quiet and subtle movements in order to shift our attention inward and release any tensions we have stored. Through pranayama (breath work) and gentle asana (movement) learn to activate the parasympathetic nervous system to calm the mind.
This class is meant to help improve flexibility & articulate the joints, enhance & support cardiovascular health, reduce pain, inflammation, feelings of anxiety, but most importantly it offers us the opportunity to listen to our body’s signals. With subtle refinement we start to become aware of the language of our own body. Yoga is not dependent on how much we move, but how much attention we are developing as we move.
All programming will be provided via WebEx or Zoom platforms. Registration is required prior to being provided the log in information.
